Join to discuss a new report exploring steps Congress and federal agencies can take to support quantum computing in the United States. About this event Quantum computers harness the powers of quantum mechanics to transcend current computational boundaries and solve certain problems better, faster, and more efficiently than classical computers. Companies are already using these systems to address optimization challenges in a variety of areas, including health care, defense, the environment, and transportation. Leadership in this technology is therefore of strategic importance to a country’s economy and national security. Several governments, including China, the United Kingdom, and the EU, have announced large research programs to advance their respective positions in the field-and many are aiming to become global leaders. As such, the United States’ leadership is far from guaranteed. Join the Center for Data Innovation to discuss a new report exploring steps Congress and federal agencies can take to support quantum computing in the United States. Date and Time: July 8, 2021, 12:00 AM to 1:00 PM (EDT) / 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (CEST) Speakers: Hodan Omaar, Policy Analyst, Center for Data Innovation (moderator) Addition Speakers TBA.
